As-salam-u-alaykum
On the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartiest felicitations to all Pakistanis living in New Zealand. I also convey my sincere good wishes to the whole Muslim community celebrating this happy day.
Eid-ul Fitr celebrates the end of fasting month of Ramadan which not only brings us blessings of Allah (SWT) but teaches us the value of patience in our daily life and instils a sense of empathy within us. Eid-ul-Fitr essentially demands us that its blessings and happiness should be shared as wide as possible. It is incumbent upon us to look after the less fortunate amongst us and make them part of our collective celebration. May I take this opportunity to once again request you to donate to ‘Prime Minister of Pakistan’s COVID-19 Relief Fund’ to help Pakistan in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
We acknowledge that Eid celebrations will look different this year, because of restrictions on gatherings including for religious services and gatherings at home. The celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr by the Pakistanis residing in Wellington and suburbs is traditionally marked by attendance of a grand festival at Pakistan House, Wellington. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, no such event will be possible this year, which is much regretted.
I pray to Almighty Allah to keep us all safe and sound, give true happiness to all and bless us with His rewards.
