Observance of Kashmir Black Day (27 October)

A special ceremony was organized at the High Commission to observe “Kashmir Black Day” to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K). A sizeable number of the Pakistani community members living in Wellington and its suburbs attended the event.

Speaking to the participants, H.E. Murad Ashraf Janjua, High Commissioner of Pakistan to New Zealand said that every year 27 October is observed as Kashmir Black Day across the world to condemn Indian illegal occupation of Kashmir and to express solidarity with the Kashmiris living under the terror of Indian Occupation forces. He said that Pakistan will keep on providing moral and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri brothers & sisters and would continue to expose the Hindutva agenda of fascist Indian regime. He said that Indian actions of 5 August 2019 have further deteriorated the situation in IIOJ&K and that attempts to change the demographic nature of Kashmir are bound to fail.

A special documentary on the history of 27 October and human rights violations in IIOJ&K was shown during the ceremony.
