A simple and graceful flag hoisting ceremony was held in the morning at the Pakistan High Commission today. A cross section of Pakistani community living in Wellington and adjoining cities attended the event.
The High Commissioner welcomed the guests and in his remarks highlighted the significance of the day. He underlined that the democratic Government in Pakistan is working for the economic and social development of the country and has made great strides in a short span of time. He also acknowledged the contribution made by Pakistanis living in New Zealand and thanked them for their whole hearted support to the High Commission.
At the end, High Commission’s staff and Pakistani community offered prayers (Surah Al-Fatiha) for the Martyrs of Christchurch terrorist attack.
