Eid Get Together at Pakistan House, Wellington

The Islamic festival of Eid-ul Fitr was celebrated in New Zealand on 28th July 2014. Eid-ul Fitr, is celebrated by Muslims all over the world when the fasting month of Ramadan is completed.

High Commissioner of Pakistan, H.E. Ms. Zehra Akbari, hosted an Eid Reception for Pakistanis and Muslim community living in Wellington and the adjoining areas to celebrate the event. Around 200 people of diverse nationalities attended the reception, which featured a large number of Pakistani expatriate and students from Wellington, Palmerston North and adjoining areas along with their families. Representatives of diplomatic community including the Apostolic Nuncio, and other friends of Pakistan also attended the event. 

The occasion was true reflection of the Eid spirit in which members of the Muslim community interacted and exchanged greetings to celebrate the most auspicious occasion of Islamic Calendar.
