Investiture Ceremony to confer Nishan-e-Shuja’at upon Mr. Naeem Rashid Shaheed on 4 May 2019 a

On behalf of the Government of Pakistan, a special Investiture Ceremony was held in Christchurch city on 4 May 2019 by the Pakistan High Commission in New Zealand to confer Nishan-e-Shuja’at upon Mr. Naeem Rashid Shaheed.

Mrs. Ambreen Naeem, widow of Mr. Naeem Rashid Shaheed along with her two sons, received the award from Dr. Abdul Malik, High Commissioner. Around 250 people attended this dignified ceremony which included New Zealanders from all walks of life, members of the Pakistani community from all over New Zealand and the families of Pakistani Shuhadas residing in Christchurch. The Government of New Zealand was represented by Hon. Dr. Megan Woods, Minister of the Crown, two Members of New Zealand Parliament, Hon. Lianne Dalziel, Mayor of Christchurch, local Councillors of Christchurch City Council, Vice-Chancellor of Lincoln University and academicians from the Canterbury University and Lincoln University, Christchurch also participated. The Turkish Ambassador in New Zealand also attended the ceremony.
